The Port

Although already described in the "yacht" in connection with a Trip reports, the new port of Santorini, so we met but many skippers, including locals who had only a vague idea of the location of this port. The notorious Festmachertonne in the crater basins and the worst stories to flit around and pay even let the thought of calling this island at Meltemi not at all. This can be especially with the new port Meltemi start easy and is in all directions completely calm. In the driveway, we have measured three meters and 2.5 meters in the inner harbor. . The offshore reefs of Cape Exomytis are good by day to identify and partly built on the rates recorded in the nautical charts underwater rocks the pier. It therefore makes sense to approach from the southwest of the pier and place them in a safe distance in an easterly direction to round, until you can see the entrance. The entrance to the east is open, but difficult to spot from the sea, as the very high breakwater forms with the sandstone in the background, an optical unit and see the boats in the harbor, only the masts. In addition, there are no lights on the pierhead. At night it would be difficult to call at this port, as well as in the port itself lacks any light
